This Shovel and it's owner Tony had been through a lot together
Road meets Bike... Road wins!

Tony had been painstakingly rebuilding his

beloved shovel for some time when we met

Too many hours and a lot of 'Hurry up & Wait'

went into this project...

some parts are still on there way

Tony bought the tanks and guards to us already painted
in a beautiful light blue metallic.

He told us that he wanted to carry a skull theme from his
favorite helmet onto his New n Improved Shovelhead

With a love of the mighty Blue n White
a Southern Cross theme was created for this project

Beginning with the front guard the 'Many Dead' pile of skulls was painted in simple black n white

What isn't evident in these pictures is ghosted dark blue pearl 'smoke like effect' trailing from the bones back over the curve of the guard

On the tanks we painted a ripped and torn
Eureka Flag
over which we laid Tony's red eyed skull
The blue on blue gave a subtle background
 for the main artwork
Manacled hands show one chain link broken
The fight for freedom has begun!

Painting any colour this particular blue is something
you have to think carefully about

Some colours get easily lost against certain hues
and so white alone wasn't going to show up
without the extra punch of a dark shadow

The back guard has the hands completely free of chains
A banner was added to this design
to place the word Shovel

One of the many finishing touched that
look great is the custom blue flame seat
Tony ordered from the States
It's things like that that pull any theme together

The over all look of this bike is really something
made even more impressive by the knowledge that from a wreck
has come this beautiful machine

We also reproduced the back guard design in paint on to Tony's vest...
sorry don't have a picture of that yet
