This sporty had been fitted with brand new split tanks. |
The
owner wanted Gunmetal Grey Metallic paintwork. |
| |
He
had an old Uriah Heap album cover |
he
wanted reproduced on the tanks. |
Nothing on the front guard |
and
the bikes name 'Grimace', |
in
gold leaf on the rear guard. |
Devo added just a hint of
purple |
pearl
to the clear to help warm |
the
base colour a tad |
By
adding this warmer colour |
over the dark grey |
the
reds, oranges and yellows |
of
the artwork keep their tones |
It
was a simple style we were after... |
and
it worked great |
Painting the motor red was a nice touch |
(done by the owner) |
All
ready for the custom tank strip |
(didn't get a pic of that sorry) |
The
last pic is of an airbrushed portrait |
of
Grimace's owner (3'x2') |
We
have done many portraits before |
but
this one was airbrushed onto canvas, |
can't say I like the texture, |
it
looses too much of the detail. |
Airbrushing looks way better on a smooth surface |
We
matched the artwork from the bike |
when we painted the T-shirt. |
